Couples and Relational Therapy
“Have the courage to trust love one more time, and always one more time.” – Maya Angelou
conflict and pain. Poor communication, unspoken conflicts, past pain, old traumas, these get in the way. Close bonds are fractured when the foundations of trust are weakened. This often presents in avoidance or escalated fights. Working together can help to resolve serious issues, restore trust, and get the relationship back to healthy connectivity.
The truth no one tells us: sometimes relationships need to fall apart a little, so they can mend and grow in a new way. Sometimes relationships have just come to the natural end and there is a need to explore how to move through that, bring resolution, and heal.
There are so many reasons people seek relationship support – here are a few:
- Learning to be Relational
- Improved Communication
- Establishing Secure Bonds and Trust
- Frequent Arguing and Fighting
- Relationship Obstacles
- Codependency Issues
- Seeking Autonomy
- Seeking Polyamory
- Infidelity / Affairs – current or past
- Navigating Recovery and Relationship
- Sexual Problems
- Sexual or Gender Identity
- Parenting
- Premarital
- Separation or Divorce
- Managing Co-Parenting
- High Conflict Divorce (incl court ordered)
- Negotiating New Life Circumstances – Marriage, Fertility, Childbirth, Empty Nest, Retirement
- Finances / Money Differences
- Blended Family Challenges and Support
Relational work allows partners to examine their own roles and how they contribute to problems in the relationship. With direct and empathic guidance, a safe environment is created that allows us to get to the root cause of the relational problems. In this work, we will identify triggers, pain points, roles, and dynamics. To help resolve conflict, we create greater awareness of unconscious or unspoken assumptions and explore differing expectations, communication styles, and behavioral choices.
The goal is to have each partner both take responsibility for their own behaviors and equally come away feeling heard, seen, acknowledged, and more empowered to be in the relationship.
In this work I use to Styles I work with:
– Attachment Theory,
– Developmental Model
– RLT – Relational Life Therapy
– EFT – Emotionally Focused Therapy
– IFST – Internal Family Systems
– Experiential Couples Therapy
I enjoy working with all types of relationships, from heteronormative couples, families and blended families, to Ethical Non Monogamy or Poly Relationships, even business relationships. This space is allied and welcoming of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC peoples.

Family Therapy
“Why family therapy? Because it deals with family pain.” – Virginia Satir
While we fantasize about the perfect family, let’s face it – families are complicated. Even with all of the love in the world, families face intergenerational traumas,
personal wounds, challenging communication styles, different temperaments, and even different sensitivities. How do we honor our own and others’ needs at the same time? Especially if we did not have parents who modeled this for us? The complexity and sensitivities of family dynamics is helped greatly by family therapy.
Family members have different needs, temperaments, and sensitivities. Add to that attachment and communication styles. Each person in the family is also in different developmental phases. Navigating these differences alone is a challenge. If you didn’t have great relational models growing up, this gets more difficult.
Then add the really complicated issues, serious illnesses, mental health issues, family addictions, intergenerational traumas, fighting parents, adolescent challenges, refugees/immigration/assimilation, even something as lovely as having a new child … and on and on the list goes.
In Family Therapy, we explore the complex family dynamics as a whole system, examine what is helping fracture or even create a broken system, and then explore how to heal this family unit, to restore peace and closeness.
Go from surviving to thriving.

People in active addictions, including partners and family members of the addicted person, are all suffering. When the using person is ready to make changes, people feel hope again. But it may be short-lived. The real truth is that it’s just the very beginning of the journey. It is important to understand what recovery and repair really is and how to navigate it. Walking through the healing journey of recovery has many stages, for the individual, the partners, the family. It is good to have someone who knows this work and can help hold the person in recovery, the partners, and the family system as a whole.

Solopreneur & Small Business Coaching
“Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek
Many small business owners and solopreneurs, seek therapy or coaching feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed by their businesses, their teams, and
the continual pressures from external factors. These feelings can become so intense that they often become a focal point of clinical work. Sometimes they are just looking to get freshly inspired and reinvigorated, a challenge in itself.
As someone who has been an solopreneur and small business owner, I understand these challenges firsthand. This experience has driven me to broaden my practice, offering a fresh perspective on the interpersonal, managerial, and leadership hurdles that business owners face. My goal is to help you, your business, and the relationships flourish. Services are available both nationally and internationally.

Relationship + Recovery Coaching
“To be fully seen by somebody, then, and be loved anyhow – this is the human offering that can border on miraculous.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Few challenges in life are as great as relationships can be. Relationships are multidimensional, layered, and at times, very complicated, sometimes leaving us
feeling very confused. They can challenge us in ways we never thought we could be challenged. When very complicated factors are added to the mix, relationships can become difficult to navigate, leaving us uncertain of how to heal and grow together in the relationship, or possibly, how to set boundaries and consciously detach and bring the relationship to a peaceful end. If you and your loved ones are suffering due to any of the issues below, please seek support.
Some complicated factors are:
- Affairs
- Addictions
- Betrayal/Deceit
- Codependency/Counterdependency
- Depression – and other Mental Health Disorders
- Personality Disorders
- Family Blending in High Conflict Coparenting
- Neurodivergence in Relationships
For over 30 years, I have worked with Individuals, Couples, and Families navigating Addiction and Early Recovery, as well as these other issues that are often present. There is hope, always there is hope. The person in early recovery from any of these issues has usually exhausted their loved one, who now still need to give more. How do people get through this? One of the most important factors, and one most overlooked as well, is having an experienced person who understands this process deeply, and who can help guide you through the real understanding and healing process. IEMT+ EMDR
“When you believe yourself to be master of your thoughts, you become so.” – Emile Coue
In the realm of therapeutic interventions, both IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) stand out as
effective approaches for addressing trauma and negative emotions. While they share similarities in utilizing eye movements, their clinical applications and methodologies differ.
EMDR, more commonly known in the US, focuses on reprocessing distressing memories through bilateral stimulation, typically eye movements, to facilitate adaptive processing of traumatic experiences. It aims to desensitize and reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional charge and associated symptoms. It requires typically 6-12 sessions, sometimes more.
IEMT, Developing in the US, and more common in the UK and Europe, takes a broader approach, incorporating eye movements along with linguistic and somatic techniques. It aims not only to address traumatic memories but also to target and change the patterns of imprints that underlie problematic emotional responses and behaviors.
IEMT also focuses on the sensations associated with emotional distress, as well as facilitating swift changes for individuals dealing with anxiety, anger, emotional blocks, limiting beliefs, phobias, unwanted habits, This aspect of IEMT can provide a gentler approach. Services are available both nationally and internationally.

Hypnotherapy & Wellness
“Allow yourself to see what you don’t allow yourself to see.” – Milton Erickson
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that allows for a deeply relaxed state of consciousness and that creates an enhanced ability to connect to your
subconscious/unconscious mind. Our subconscious minds create many of our bad habits and limited beliefs. Our unconscious minds hold places we may need to evoke to help heal trauma wounds.
Hypnotherapy is an ancient natural tool that started to be crafted and used in medicine in the 18 th century. Having many applications, the APA (American Psychological Association) and AMA (American Medical Association) highly approve of hypnotherapy for simple matters or in conjunction with other treatments such as psychiatry, psychotherapy or coaching. And – it just feels good. National + International Availability.
